TARGETjobs careers round-up post

Hello everyone!
Welcome to this week's round-up post. There are not many updates for you this week, however I do have a few career opportunities that you may be interested in.

So, we have had the pleasure of working alongside year 10 work experience this week (Phoebe and Emily). Whilst they have potentially made us feel rather old (Can you remember what you were like in Year 10?), we have also learnt a great deal about their aspirations and future plans. They have be an asset this week and it has been as fun for them as it has for us.. hopefully that means it has been a great deal of fun! They have kindly offered to write a blogpost about their experiences here at GTI which will be coming soon!

This week we are saying farewell to the wonderful Chloe Burgess (Marketing Director) as she sets off on her maternity leave and motherhood journey! Not to worry, she will be back in action soon enough so it isn't a final farewell! But we wish her the best of luck with everything.

Now, onto careers advice..

Once you’ve submitted your targeted and proofread training contract applications before the July deadlines (having read all our handy applications advice on, of course), you’ll hopefully  be invited along to a law firm’s assessment centre. Find out what we learned by being a fly on the wall at a Reed Smith group exercise – our advice applies to all law assessment centres.

For all aspiring barristers it’s pupillage application season until 30 April. Keep up to date with who is and who isn’t using the Pupillage Gateway this year and find out which sets have deadlines later on in 2015 with our guide to pupillage application deadlines!

If you couldn’t attend the TARGETjobs Law National Pupillage Fair this year, find out what you missed. Click the link to see the videos from this year’s talks programme and see a rundown of exclusive tips from chambers’ representatives who attended our CV clinic. If you’re applying for pupillage at the moment, this is must-have advice.

If you're looking for a graduate job in IT, Engineering or Retail this could be your lucky week. Here are this week's upcoming graduate deadlines. Get applying before they all go!

National Grid launches internship programme for students with learning difficulties, with inspiring results. Have a read of the news story here.

Thinking of taking a postgraduate course? Don’t forget to enter our competition to win up to £2,000 towards your tuition fees.  You just need to write (up to) 500 words about you and your course to be in with a chance… Application deadline is 30 June 2015! Good Luck.
That's everything for this week!
Happy Friday and good luck with your job hunting!
